HE WAS AN HONEST PRESIDENT
The year was 1943. The proud owner of the car which we talk about was driving Dr Ramón Castillo, 23rd president of Argentina -who remained in that position until being overthrown by a military revolution that same year – on the occasion of the inauguration of «the Calvary» in the city of Tandil.
That car was a 1930 Pierce Arrow dual windshield phaeton , which was conceived as an export model because, if you look carefully, it didnt have the headlights integrated to the fender, a regular feature of the mark.
Hopefully this barnfind of the other photo is not the same as the one that in its days of brightness was driving a president of a country.
The factory equipment used to make Pierce-Arrow V-12 engines was bought by Seagrave Fire Apparatus , which used it to make engines for fire engines .
Times are chiganng for the better if I can get this online!
